Holy moly, where do I begin? What is a "holy moly" anyway? Or is it "holey moley"? Such are the things that I ponder.

Mom and Shane are keeping you up-to-date on the situation with grandma. It's not good. As much as we love her and want to keep her here forever, it will be a blessing when she passes - she'll be in such a better place. And we'll be heart-broken and yet thankful that she's not in pain anymore.

I have thought of a million blog topics over the past few weeks, but none of them made it to the actual screen. Here are a few of the things bouncing around in my head:

My cousin's husband asked me at Christmas if I could get him out of jury duty. I told him no, and that I wouldn't if I could. I tried to explain that it's relatively painless, but he wasn't buying it. He reported to the courthouse for jury selection on Tuesday. He ended up on a jury - the case is expected to last until Friday at least. He was less than thrilled. As the jury clerk said - he's never going to believe that I actually had nothing to do with it :-).

A guy that Shane grew up with was arrested in Ark City the other day for possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of drugs and suspected distribution. It's a sad thing because I've know the kid for most of his life, but, on the bright side, chances are that no one in town knows it was actually him - he's always been know as "Scooter" - I'd be surprised if more than 20 people know his actual name. Of course, they will find it out soon enough when the case of the State of Kansas vs. Scooter hits the dockets.

Several months ago, I found a website called complaints.com where people can post complaints about any store, service, product, etc that they have an issue with. I love to browse through them and see what people are complaining about this week. Even better, though, is planetfeedback.com. Planet Feedback actually gives you the opportunity to respond to the shared letters that are posted. The responses, more often then not, are more entertaining than the original complaints. Here is a link to one of the "best" letters (and response threads) that exists (IMHO). Sometimes it's difficult to tell if these people are for real, and sometimes, it is terrifyingly obvious that they are. What is most heartbreaking, however, is the level of writing that is exhibited throughout the site. Most people have no idea how to construct a sentence, let alone an business letter.

The breaking news as I type this is that Anna Nicole Smith just died in Florida. How sad. She was a sleeze ball, to be sure, but it's still sad - especially for her little baby who will now be put through the custody battle to end all custody battles. Hmmm. . . Anna Nicole always wanted to be like Marilyn Monroe - I guess she got her wish. Of course, she died in a hotel room in Hollywood, Florida, so she couldn't even manage to get that part right. . . . I'm guessing drug overdose - whether it was intentional is anyone's guess - my guess is yes.
