Inside the Mind

Aye-yi-yi, it's been a long time since I've blogged. It seems like life has been nothing but chaos lately. We are extremely short-staffed at work right now and have been trying to figure out how to get the work done, do interviews and manage to take lunch. So far, only the lunch part is suffering. It appears that the only vacation that I'll be taking this summer is the 2 hours that I took off last Friday to go to the Relay 4 Life in Coffeyville (and you see how that turned out).

I've spent a lot of "down" time lately organizing my music collection (it was actually pretty hard work) and trying to keep my yard from overtaking my house. So far, the house is winning, but the yard is putting up a valiant effort. This Friday is the birthday ceremony for our courthouse treasure Judge Brown. He turned 100 on Friday and kept right on working.

SparkPeople is still going well (I've lost 45 pounds so far!), but my weight loss has slowed down to about a pound a week now. If I want to meet my goal (30 more pounds by the end of October) I'm going to have to add some exercise. I've never been good at exercise - I hate it. With a passion. I made it a point when I started SparkPeople to only make changes that I knew that I could maintain. Mainly, that had to do with the food and very little to do with movement. I have definitely been moving more than I used to, but I knew that if I went gang-busters with exercise every day, it would last for about 2 weeks - that isn't what I wanted. The most important thing to me is that I don't gain the weight back. I don't care if it comes off slowly, as long as it stays off. However, I need to start getting healthier as well as smaller, so I'm going to try to use the Gazelle in my living room at least twice a week - hey, start slow!

I've been trying to save a little money, but life if making it difficult. I am a stress-spender and I have been pretty stressed lately - hence my recent purchase of an iPod. Now it turns out that I may have to make a major household expenditure. I hate when these kinds of things mess with my budget. I generally budget the entire year at the end of November and then stick to it as much as possible - lately, I've blown it out of the water. Oh, well.

Well, I think that about covers it. Talk to you all soon (hopefully!).
